Weekly Update

Last week was an absolutely crazy and hectic week. I was thinking about how to relate it all. I think I'm going to try different methods until I find one that I like. This week I'll try breaking it down into the different sections of my life.

Work

My work week was split in half. The first half was really really good. The last half... well... not so good.

Monday started out pretty decent. The Friday before, I had developed a script (program) that would make changing some Outlook settings much easier for our administrators. My boss was pleased. Monday I finished polishing it up (spacing out the code, indenting, commenting on it, etc.) and then shipped it off to him for the final (maybe) time. I also got to officially roll out my other project that created contacts and put them in user's folders. This is a huge program, in that it touches well over 300 user email inboxes. I was excited to finally see it installed and used inside of a production environment. Most of my day was spent preparing for that.

Tuesday was a little scary but exciting, since it would be the first day my program would have run. I was curious if I would arrive at my job and find the place burned to the ground. As it was, I got there and my boss gave the program glowing reviews. It ran with out a hitch and he enjoyed the nice little logging feature I added so he can tell what's going on. Yay! Maybe I DO know what I'm doing!?! It could happen. I spent most of the rest of the day glowing in my success!

Wednesday came and well... the top of the coaster had been reached. It was now on the down hill. It was time to sit down and write in excruciating detail everything I had done to create this program. Now, anyone who knows me knows I hate to repeat myself. But, as it was explained to me, this documentation was for if I ever got hit by a bus, the person after me would know what I did and why.

And at that point, a bus was starting to sound real good...

But it's that part of the job you have to just grit your teeth and do.

Thursday and Friday were mostly just me going back through my code, and then putting down the design in a Word document.

Social

Play practice has started for "Catacombs". It looks like my Tuesday and Thursday nights will be consumed until the play hits the theater. I will post the calendar of my practice and performance schedule once I get the times nailed down.

I'm really enjoying acting again. It's been a while since I've gotten the chance to really preform. We have a great cast for the play. They are serious about what they do, but they have a fun time doing it. It's going to be a riot. I'm sure I'll have plenty to post about my experiences with this play as time goes on.

I got to spend some quality time with my mentor on Wednesday, which I really appreciated. It was good to sit down and just shoot the breeze. It seems like I do so much listening in my life to other friends, that I almost forget what it's like to be listened to. And I mean really listened to.

Sabbath school was great this weekend! I didn't have to teach it (which was a nice break), and it was rather small. Even so, we had an amazing discussion about being frozen and chained inside of the church. It looks like I'll be teaching the next two weekends though. I know that next weekend will be based around being free of those chains. The one after that however... well.. I'm open to suggestions. So leave them in the comments.

After church we went over to my families house (I've been adopted) to eat. We had a wonderful time eating great food (Hotdogs! WHOO HOO! Love'em!) and discussing things. After we were done eating, we went out to the pool.

It was here we started trying to do tricks. First it was just diving on to floats and seeing how far you could ride them. Then it turned into doing tricks on to them (of which I would start a new trick, only to be quickly out done by everyone else!). It was hilarious. Afterwards, I was allowed to float around on the pool soaking in the sun. After we all got out of the pool. We went inside and discussed a lot of interesting psychology topics in regards to relationships (of which some of mine got mentioned). We then watched "Lady in the Water". It was a MUCH better movie than I was expecting. I would like to watch it again though. There are some things I think I missed the first time through.

Sunday I spent most of the day helping a friend clean up her apartment. Afterwards I can back and cleaned up my apartment. Not much happened Sunday. It was a great day though! I also got a new phone!!!!!!! I am so excited about my new phone! It can do anything! I think it can even cure world hunger and disease! So give me a call on it so I can be excited about using it! :)

The Week Ahead

Nothing planed for tonight (Monday) that I know of, so I was just planning on doing some more cleaning around the apartment. Maybe kick back and watch a movie, or just do some more writing. Haven't really decided yet.

Of course Tuesday evening will be consumed with play practice. I'm looking forward to it!

Wednesday, I am going to try to get back to the gym... heck, I might even go tonight... maybe.

Thursday play practice.

Friday evening will be spent putting together the Sabbath school lesson for the next morning. That will usually take me until all hours of the night. I enjoy it though! I'll probably end up posting some of my ideas and comments about the lesson that night. Help me get it all out so I can use it in class.

Summary

I guess that just about covers everything. To everyone who's reading this! Thanks! Leave some love in the comments for me! If you have questions or ideas or whatever, leave'em in the comments!
